About Us

Kelsey Pendleton, MD

I graduated from Vanderbilt University in Nashville, TN with a BA in Biology and Studio Art then from University of Pittsburgh School of Medicine with my MD. I attended St. Margaret’s Family Medicine Residency in Pittsburgh PA and am now board certified in Family Medicine with Obstetrics.

For the first two years of my practice in Wisconsin I served as teaching faculty at a family medicine residency where I was honored with the Teacher of the Year Award. I highly value merging education with compassion both with my patients as well as my colleagues. I have a strongly held belief in the power of our own bodies and a healthy lifestyle in the setting of appropriate medical intervention. I have particular interests in women’s health, prenatal care, pediatric care, and breastfeeding medicine.

I am ecstatic to work alongside my husband, Benjamin, as we become a “family caring for families.” We have two wonderful daughters, Lucy and Harper.

Benjamin Bondow, MD, CAQSM

Originally from the Fox Cities, I moved to Wauwatosa to attend Wisconsin Lutheran College and then the Medical College of Wisconsin. Upon graduation, I completed residency training in Pittsburgh, PA at the UPMC St. Margaret Family Medicine residency program.

Due to my interest in athletics and musculoskeletal medicine, I pursued further intensive training at the University of Kentucky’s Primary Care Sports Medicine Fellowship in Lexington, KY, working with athletes of all ages and capabilities, including now professional-level players as well as your typical weekend warrior. Having been an athlete from a young age including playing Div. III football at WLC, I can personally relate to the frustrations and challenges of overcoming sports-related injuries. I am motivated to work with every level of athlete, helping them perform at their best.

Now that my training is complete, I have returned to Wauwatosa to practice family medicine. I am excited to be back near my family and have the opportunity to work alongside my father at Firefly DPC. I am a proud husband, as well as father to our daughters, Lucy and Harper. I strive to maintain an active lifestyle with exercise, weightlifting, and being outdoors with my family.

I am board certified in both Family Medicine and Primary Care Sports Medicine.

Steven Bondow, MD

I attended the University of Minnesota Medical School and completed my residency in Family Medicine at the University of Wisconsin, Madison. After completing training and becoming a Board-Certified Family Physician, I spent the majority of my career in Appleton, WI, where we raised our family. Along with my medical practice, I also served as team physician for various sports teams in the area. A strong desire to teach and re-locate closer to the Milwaukee area resulted in my accepting a position with Froedtert Hospital and the Medical College of Wisconsin where I practiced from 2007-2016.

I was happy to receive the Family Medicine Teacher of the Year Award in 2015 from the Medical College of Wisconsin, and continue to be listed yearly in Best Doctors, a national recognition organization for physicians.

Having spent my career in big-system medicine, by the end of 2016, I realized that it was time for another career change. The Direct Primary Care model was spearheading a movement to help lead family medicine in a new direction.

DPC offered me an opportunity to open a solo practice where I could directly reduce medical costs for individuals, families and small companies, simplify healthcare, and give patients my undivided attention and expertise in optimizing their health and well-being.

With my son, Benjamin, now pursuing a DPC medical practice, I am excited to join him in continuing to offer quality and cost-effective medical care through Firefly DPC in Wauwatosa, WI. Our practice has been created to serve you by offering our experience, education, professional network, and resources – all focused on you and your healthcare goals.
